So if you live anywhere close to Northern Indiana you know we are experiencing an extreme lack of sun! I personally enjoy leaving work to feel the sun on my face but I'm not sure what that would feel like anymore. :) So I have a couple alternatives.
Shout out to Malibu Tanning because their beds rock! I've never been disappointed with their beds or their service ever. I could be a little bias since I did use to work there....but still they rock! So if you are ok with tanning in a tanning bed, go there. The prices are amazing and they have a huge selection of tanning products from phase 1 and up, moisturizers, etc. Here is a link to their website so you can see where the locations are and what not.

Some of you don't like to tan in the tanning bed so I recommend Too Faced Tanning Bed in a Tube. You can get this for your face and body (separate bottles). I love these self tanners!!! You get the most amazing color and there is no gross smell. It's actually smells good! :) You can pick this up at Sephora for I believe $25. Always check Amazon too for a better deal. I can't say anything negative about these products. If you follow the directions, you will have a streak free amazing glow! Here is the link to the Too Faced website for the body tanner ------>

My daughter actually used this and she has sensitive skin and it didn't break her out or anything.
I highly recommend Malibu Tanning, and Too Faced tanning products! At least until the sun comes back right????

WAKE UP!!!!!! (and simple ways to do it)
1. BUFF TO GLOW. Use an exfoliating cleanser or enzyme mask to boost circulation, slough off dead cells and de-clog pores. Healthier-looking skin surfaces in seconds.
3. USE A FACE PRIMER. Prevent makeup from creasing, caking and settling in expression lines and fill the pores on your nose in one step. Your face won't look like an unmade bed.
4. GO SHEERER AND WARMER WITH FOUNDATION. Yellow toned foundation freshens grey, pasty, stressed skin. Skim a damp makeup sponge over you face to remove excess coverage and create a dewy skin-like look.
5. WAKE UP EYES WITH HIGHLIGHTER. Piling on skin tone concealer emphasizes under-eye bags and puffiness. Use a highlighter pen or soft white pencil to brighten eyes at the inner eye corners and add sparkle.
6. CORRECT CIRCLES WITH TINTS. Hide super-dark circles with tinted shades- orange/yellow concealer for blue/purple circles, mauve/rose for brown circles. Skin-tone cover-up won't do it.
7. KEEP EYE MAKEUP CLEAN AND CRISP. No smudgy or smoky- a crisp eye compensates for loose skin and pouches below. Dot a felt-tip black liner beneath the top lashes (hold lid taut and lift it to do this) to keep definition sharp.
8. GET OUT THE BRONZER. Apply a skin compatible bronzer (not too dark) in a C-shape to cheekbones and forehead, on chin and down the neck for radiance. Skip the nose.
9. APPLY CREAM BLUSH ON CHEEKBONES. Forget about apples. Blush goes high on the cheekbones away from the nose and nasal labial folds. Cream blush makes bronzer look real and adds life to your face.
10. BRIGHTEN LIPS. Swap nudes for clear pink, apricot, coral, rose or raspberry shades that bring attention to lips not lines.
And don't forget....LOTS OF SLEEP AND WATER! Nothing stresses out the skin like lack of sleep and water.
Here's to refreshed skin!
2. LIFT YOUR BROWS. Tweeze away droopy hairs that curve around eyes and exacerbate droop. Use pencil and powder to fill and extend brows outwards.
3. USE A FACE PRIMER. Prevent makeup from creasing, caking and settling in expression lines and fill the pores on your nose in one step. Your face won't look like an unmade bed.

Wet n Wild Greed Palette video
I am a HUGE fan of Wet N Wild eye shadows! Let me stress that I do NOT like any other products from them so far from what I've tried. The eyeliners, blushes, mascaras, etc I'm not a fan of. I do think that the lipsticks are wearable but I wouldn't oh and ah over them, but the eye shadows never cease to amaze me! The pigmentation is crazy! Every time I get a new palette from Wet N Wild (which let me add the price is awesome) I always go to YouTube to see other viewers ideas on how to wear them. I would say I'm good at applying colors just not as good with coming up with color combos (I'm not too proud to admit that) so I always go there and see how other people do it and try that. I found a video that I love! It's so easy to mimic and it looks so pretty and soft. The peaches looks amazing with the grays and smokey blacks and then paired with the light pink cheeks and lips, it looks so pretty! So without anymore rambling, here we go! Be sure and let me know if you would like to see any other kind of look and I'll scope it out for ya!

Alcohol and Alcohol
Ok no I'm not going to tell you how to mix drinks :) But I am going to tell you about something I found out over the weekend! Two things, here we go!
I was talking to someone about their highlights and how they kept them so vibrant and blond and they said VODKA! I couldn't believe it! How in the world does Vodka help your hair???? Now I'm sure this could be old hat to some of you but this was news to me so I had to share it. I started surfing the Internet for this "myth" and sure enough faithful Beautylish had an article about it! And apparently there is another "mixed drink" for brunettes too! Here is what the article said about it:
Vodka Spritzer
Rum Fizz
Sunny Side Up Highlights
How uber great is Beautylish for all of their amazing articles on everything beauty and health??? I highly recommend checking this blog out for sure. If you try the alcohol, let me know how it worked for you! I guess you just spray it on your hair before going into the sun. Putting a braid in your hair or putting it in a bun before you spray it will give the best results :)
Ok on to the next one:
Those of you that know me know that once a year at the beginning of warm weather when the sun is bright and beautiful I always forget to protect my lips and the bottom one gets burnt and it's pure torture for about 1 and 1/2 weeks. I have tried everything to speed up the burn but nothing would work. I couldn't use Abreva or other cold sore medicines because that would make it worse since it wasn't a cold sore, it was a burn. So once again I go to the world wide web and started googling burnt lips and blisters on lips and saw a lot of people put alcohol on their lips right after they were out in the sun. It worked!!!! We were at a company party this past weekend and there was an overcast so of course I didn't think to protect my lips. By that evening my husband noticed that I was getting two little dark spots on my lips so I immediately started rubbing 80% rubbing alcohol on it. I did it about 4 times a day (and yes it stung a little) but the end result was so worth it! I also used 45spf lip protectant in between the alcohol and never saw a blister or anything. So to clarify, this remedy is with rubbing alcohol not drinking alcohol. I challenge you to try this if you ever have had issues with your lips burning or getting cold sores as it works well for that too. (I did read some bad reviews on alcohol for cold sore, some said it didn't work, but it was about a 60/40 split so give it a try)

50's photo shot!!!
I quickly got some pictures from Heather of Yellow Bee Photography!! Saturday we had a super fun photo shoot! The pictures came out soooo good! As I knew they would. Heather is so talented! Look her up at Yellowbeephotography.com. Here are some pictures from the shoot. Be sure and let me know what you think about the makeup. I kept it very dramatic on the eyes, not a lot of blush or anything and either nude lips for some shots or red lips for others. Janell was cutesy and fun and everybody was awesome! (inside joke between Heather, Janell and myself of the cutesy and awesome stuff).
Janell- you are great to work with! You took direction so well! Could modeling be in your future???? xoxo

BIRCHBOX for June arrived!!!!!!!!!
I am insanely excited about this month's shipment of goodies! Birchbox has truly outdone themselves on this one. For how I felt on the last shipment, they have been redeemed! I'm going to jump right into what I got so you guys can see the awesome (and huge) samples! Make sure you sign up for your monthly samples! You will get samples that are custom to your wants and needs and make sure in the where did you hear about us box you put me! (just put my blog address that works!) Ok here we go!................
Kate Spade Twirl Perfume:
This flirty scent feels carefree and joyful-just the thing to wear on your adventures at home.
I love the smell of this perfume! It's light and not overpowering but it has a smell that lasts all day. I wore this yesterday and kept telling my daughter to smell my wrist because I couldn't get enough of this. It has a summery earthy smell and it's fabulous!
Laura Geller Baked Blush N' Brighten
Made in Italy, this swirl of warm and cool tones is infinitely versatile-dust your cheeks for a flattering flush or use the lighter shades as a highlighter.
First let me say that this sample is HUGE! It's comparable to MAC face powder compacts or a drugstore face powder compact. I was amazed at the size of this "sample". I wouldn't even call it a sample. I think I just got blessed with the full size :) Anyway, this compact is also amazing! It's so creamy and insanely pigmented. I brushed my finger across it when I first got it and couldn't believe the color that came off. This gave my face a beautiful natural bronzed highlighted glow. It's great to use as a soft contour also. I used a kabuki brush and swept it across my face softly to get that highlight and then I used a contouring brush (not sure what kind it was) and put a little more on the brush to contour and it looked like two different powders but blended so well.
Oscar Blandi Olio Di Jasmine Hair Serum
Banish frizz and flyaways with this fast-absorbing serum. Work it through dry or damp hair to add moisture and gloss-no blow dryer required.
So I got my hair done and highlighted Wednesday night and couldn't wait until I could wash my hair and try this and I did and I LOVED IT! It only took a very small amount and I rubbed it in my hands and scrunched it in my hair. I didn't need as much hairspray to give it that "done" look because the serum made my hair look so healthy and shiny, not to mention is smells super good! It has an earthy smell kind which I always love for my hair. It didn't weigh my hair down and it lasted all day. I couldn't believe the difference it made in my hair!
Pangea Organics Toner and Facial Cream
Laced with mandarin and lime, this energizing toner is a skincare staple and ideal on-the-go refresher + facial cream.
I'm getting the cleanser for this so I will have the whole regimen because this stuff is yep you guessed it amazing! After I cleaned my face with my stuff, I spritzed my face with this toner about 3-4 times and it left a cooling tightening feeling. I couldn't believe how refreshed my face looked! I added the cream which moisturized so well and it didn't take much at all to reach all of my face. This has an earthly smell to it also so it isn't strong or overpowering when you spray your face. There is no burning of the eyes afterwards. I can't wait to see what the cleanser has to offer.
Herban Essentials Orange Towelettes
Infused with pure orange oil, these little guys are detoxifying, germ-killing, and mood perking
I have to be honest in saying that I haven't tried these yet. I'm not sure what I'm waiting on but I feel like I need to find the right moment for them :) From what I gather they are cleansing wipes. Here is what the description from Amazon says:
I love these samples!!! And remember if you order any of these samples you get a discount from Birchbox! (I would check Amazon also) :)
Be blessed always!!

Pimples Article from Beautylish
Did you know that the location of your blemish can tell you how it got there in the first place? Beautylish got the lowdown on "pimple geography" from Dermalogica Director of Global Education, Annet King. Learn why your zits can give you clues about other issues in your body
The International Dermal Institute created face mapping, a skin analysis system that divides your face into 14 zones that you can individually analyze and treat. "The concept came to us one day as we discussed the fallacy of traditional skin treatment," Annet says. "We always taught classes on Chinese face reading and skin analysis, so it seemed advantageous to combine both schools of thought. The East looks at the body—how the organs are mapped out on the face and their possible imbalance. The West is founded on skin type and condition, product use and habits. Both aspects are so important when treating skin."
What about skin issues on the body? "There are a lot of sebaceous glands in the chest and back area. It's very common for boys and women who suffer from facial acne to have body breakouts as well. However, if someone who doesn't suffer from blemishes has body acne, look into outside factors. Synthetic clothing, perfume and congesting hair products might be the culprit. Luckily, traditional eastern medicine also addresses body acne as well. In Chinese diagnosis, the chest and back relate to issues in the lungs, if all other reasons have been ruled out." Let's take a look at the different zones on your face and see what triggers acne.
Zones 1 & 3 (forehead)
Traditionally, the forehead connects to your digestion. If you break out in this area, improve your elimination by drinking water and eating "whole" foods. You could possibly suffer from a food intolerance (like wheat or gluten).
Zone 2 (middle of Forehead)
The middle of the forehead, between the eyebrows, connects to the liver. Congestion and breakouts could be related to consumption of alcohol and rich foods or a food allergy (like lactose intolerance). Avoid eating late at night and cut back on the wine and cheese.
Zones 4 & 10 (ears)
The ears connect to the kidneys. If they swell or feel hot, reduce inflammation by cutting down on the caffeine.
Zones 5 & 9 (cheeks)
Your cheeks indicate respiratory issues. Smokers or allergy-prone Beauties typically notice fine, broken capillaries and clogged pores. Quit smoking and begin an antihistamine regimen (if you're not on one already) to clear this congested area.
Zones 6 & 8 (eyes)
The eyes, like the ears, connect to the kidneys. Diminish dark circles and brighten those peepers by drinking more water and streamlining your digestion.
Zone 7 (nose)
Your nose indicates blood pressure. If it becomes red and abnormally inflamed, your blood pressure level is probably higher than usual.
Zone 12 (chin)
Chin breakouts are regulated by hormones and tend to freak out before and after your period.
Zone 11 + 13 (corners of your mouth)
The corners of your mouth connect to the ovaries, and often break out during menstruation.
Zone 14 (neck area and temples)
Breakouts in the neck area and temples relate to adrenal stress. Our two adrenal glands, located above our kidneys, secrete vital hormones. If these glands function abnormally, you may feel sluggish and stressed throughout the day, and you could break out. Remember, the skin on your neck is just as important as your face, don't forget to take care of it!
Beauties, what do you think about this east-meets-west approach to skin care? Do you notice blemish patterns on your face based on these guidelines?

WATER WATER WATER
I can't stress enough how amazing water is for your skin and to prove it I did a little project of my own to see just how effective water was.
For one week I didn't drink pure water. I just drank pop or milk or sports drink for 7 days. I felt more tired, my skin looked horrible and started breaking out (I didn't try any new products either so I knew it wasn't from that), I didn't have much success expelling my food if you know what I mean ;), my hair looked dry, I had bags under my eyes, etc. Now having said all of that let me say this: I didn't look like death by any means. I could still function, work, play, all that jazz but I did notice a difference in so many areas. Enough to make me want to drink even more water and less sugar now. Our bodies need water to survive and look healthy, just like it needs fresh fruits and veggies. :) Here are some links I found on the benefits of drinking water:
http://www.health-benefit-of-water.com/benefit-of-drinking-water.html

http://www.thedietchannel.com/Top-4-Benefits-of-Drinking-Water.htm

I really enjoyed reading these articles about water. I know this isn't a super exciting post about makeup or looking "2beautiful" but I promise you without water no amount of makeup will help out at all! Water is vital in looking good and feeling great. And don't forget water helps in weight loss! If you can't stand the taste of water mix sugar free flavor packets with it. I do this daily so I don't ever get bored with the taste.
I challenge you to try drinking nothing but water for one week, 8-10 glasses per day, and see the difference yourself. (Be sure and still eat lol I'm not saying just drink water only) If you don't see a difference it can only be because you already drink lots o water :)
Be refreshed and hydrated always!!

How To Get Great Skin Naturally
Treat Acne, Oily Skin, Dryness, Sunburn, Eczema, Wrinkles, Calluses
There's no reason not to take care of your skin when these ingredients can be found in your kitchen. Try these natural tips for healthy, clean skin.
Try these easy natural beauty tips to look great and stay healthy. All of these ingredients are used in commercially prepared products – and they’re just a kitchen away.
Treating Acne
For persistent acne gently scrub the skin on your face or other problem area of your body with sea salt and a few drops of neem oil or a teaspoon of neem powder (both are available available at South Asian grocers). The salt is an antiseptic and the neem oil acts as an anti-fungal. Rinse off and wash face with your regular cleanser. Cinnamon or nutmeg powder can also be used with neem oil or honey to banish acne-causing bacteria.Cleansing and Toning Skin
Banish oily skin with a homemade lemon toner. Combine lemon juice, distilled water and witch hazel in a clean bottle. Shake well before each use apply with a cotton pad. The lemon juice exfoliates the skin and evens out uneven skin tone while witch hazel is a herbal antibacterial cleanser.Honey is the perfect face mask for all types of skin. It has natural anti-bacterial and cleansing qualities for acne-prone skin and it hydrates, heals and balances dry skin. If you feel a burning sensation, rinse off immediately; some people are allergic to honey.
Soothing Eczema, Sunburns and Redness
Soothe minor eczema and dry skin flare-ups by applying olive oil directly to the irritated area. Rub the olive oil into the skin and leave on to nourish and heal the skin and create a barrier so skin won’t dry out.
Minor sunburns and other small burns can be treated with a cold compress of black or green tea. Brew a cup of tea and let cool completely by placing the pot in cold water or an ice bowl. Soak a small clean towel in the cold tea and apply it to the area. The tea contains phytonutrients which reduces inflamed blood vessels and helps to heal the burn faster.
Soak away feet calluses and rough hands. Give your toes a 30 minute bath in warm tea. The tannic acid in tea gently dissolves away calluses and rough dead skin build up. Any kind of tea will work but black tea is the best, simply add a teabag or two to a foot bath and let it brew.Soothe redness with tomatoes. Lycopene a natural antioxidant found in tomatoes helps balance the skin’s pH balance ad improves ruddy, uneven complexions while the fruit acids get rid of excess skin oil. Try using fresh tomato juice like a toner and let it dry before rinsing with tepid water or make a mask by combining mashed tomato pulp with facial mask clay or finely ground oatmeal.
Get Glowing Skin and Shrink Pores
Grapefruit is not only part of a healthy breakfast, it can also shrink pores. Citric acid, grapefruit’s main component acts as a mild astringent and exfoliator getting deep down into the pores to remove dirt and impurities for clean, fresh skin. Use grapefruit juice alone applied as a toner and rinsed off after a few minutes or make your own grapefruit cleanser with olive oil, grapefruit juice and borax powder.
Hydrate Dry Skin
Quench dry, weather-beaten skin with an avocado facial. Simply mash or puree a piece of avocado and apply to skin. Leave on for about 15 minutes before rinsing off with tepid water. Avocados are loaded with vitamin E and monounsaturated fats and will keep skin cells nicely hydrated whether applied as a mask or eaten.Take a break from your everyday products and try these gentle age-old kitchen remedies to soothe and refresh your skin. Always store any left over product in a tightly covered container in the fridge and use within five to seven days for best results
