Bridgette's wedding pictures!

I finally have some of the pictures from a wedding I did on June 4th. I'm hoping to get a few more up close ones but these are none the less stunning! I added some extra ones just because I couldn't resist. The photographer did an amazing job at capturing every special moment. I feel like I didn't miss the wedding at all after seeing these great pictures. Check out the photographer's website by clicking here. Josephiney Photography did an awesome job for sure!

Bridgette's wedding party was a delight to work with. I ended up doing 5 of the bridesmaids and of course Bridgette. Each girl wanted something different so that was fun to create. Bridgette isn't a "makeup girl" (probably because she is beautiful without it!) so I kept the look very light and natural. It was perfect for what she wanted and the look she was going for.

Here are some of the pictures that the photographer was so kind to let me snag from her. :) I'm hoping to get more from Bridgette soon (hint hint Bridgette lol)

Even through her beautiful tears, her makeup never smudged!

Beautiful!!! Be sure and check out http://www.josephineyphotography.com/ for more of the pictures!

50's photo shot!!!

I quickly got some pictures from Heather of Yellow Bee Photography!! Saturday we had a super fun photo shoot! The pictures came out soooo good! As I knew they would. Heather is so talented! Look her up at Yellowbeephotography.com. Here are some pictures from the shoot. Be sure and let me know what you think about the makeup. I kept it very dramatic on the eyes, not a lot of blush or anything and either nude lips for some shots or red lips for others. Janell was cutesy and fun and everybody was awesome! (inside joke between Heather, Janell and myself of the cutesy and awesome stuff).

Janell- you are great to work with! You took direction so well! Could modeling be in your future???? xoxo

Here are some pictures!

Going to a wedding

I had a session yesterday of a friend of mine who was going to a wedding and wanted her makeup done without paying a crazy price...after all it isn't her wedding right? I'm sure we all wish we could get our makeup done for small events for a low price....

WELL NOW YOU CAN!! :) You just come see me and I will fix you right up! It only takes about 30-45 minutes for the full session. 45 minutes usually are for more detailed sessions. Here is a picture of the session I had yesterday.

I love the deep colors I used around her eyes and then the sweet shimmer all over her face. I also used the NYX lip liners and glosses on her! The camera is coming soon so hopefully everyone will get to see what we see when I do the makeup because these pictures do no justice!

Be sure and contact me via email if you want to schedule a session! jodipeffley@yahoo.com

Jimtown Prom today!

Today's sessions went really well! Both the girls were wonderful to work with! Lexi had a gray smokey eye with light lips and false lashes and then Tiara went with a more natural smokey eye and bold cheeks and lips in a pink color. I worked on these girls for winter prom so thanks for coming back to see me girls! Here are the best pictures I could get with my camera. I was able to get a few in between pictures of Lexi (since her mom wanted some pictures of during :) ) but I was only able to get a couple of Tiara. Regardless of how many pictures I got, they both looked super good! I even shocked myself at how great they looked. Here are some of Lexi:

I loved the shimmery gray color around her eyes. ( wish I had a better camera dang it!!!) Her hair looked amazing too!

Here are a couple pictures of Tiara:

Tiara had such an amazing tan so I just worked with that to create a nice bronze look with her eyes, pretty pink blush on the cheeks and then a hot pink lip gloss. I wish I would have gotten one up close of her eyes because they looked really good and the colors were perfect for her!

Thanks again girls for letting me be a part of your prom! You both looked 2beautiful!! Send me some pictures and I'll post them of you in your dresses!

Prom Tutorial

Ok before anyone expects to see a video I want to apologize for not having one! I was trying to download the software that I need and for whatever reason I wasn't able to download it...SO I decided to do pictures yet again and yes with my phone camera :(. This time I used my daughter instead of me since it's a prom look. I found it appropriate to use someone in the prom age range (and we all know I'm not that). :) Without anymore waiting, here you go.... 2011 Prom look:

  • Here is Shaylee's eye without any makeup or primer.
  • I put NYX white primer all over her lid from the brow bone down to the lash line.

  • For the eyeshadow I used Maybelline Charcoal Smokes Quad Palette. I added the brow bone color all over the lid and up to the brow bone and then the Lid color I patted on just the lid and blended that just barely into the brow bone color.

  • Then I added the Crease color to the crease of her eye and blended that out and added the Outer Corner color to the outer corner and then a soft brown to tone down the greys from the 28 Palette Coastal Scents.

  • Once everything was blended I used L'Oreal Le Kohl Pencil in Carbon Black (this is perfect for blending and creating a smokey eye) and also Too Faced Stiletto eyeshadow to seal everything, filled in her eyebrows with a brown eyeliner and then finished with L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara.

  • Here are a couple pictures of the eyes up close and one in the sun light

  • And here is the total look after pinkish peachy blush and soft pink lips :)

I hope everybody enjoys this tutorial! It's super easy because the colors in the Maybelline palette are titled LID, CREASE, etc and you just follow that. I added a few extra things to tone down the colors since I was working on a teenager. I didn't want anything to overpower her natural beauty or make her look like anything but herself with just a touch of something extra :)

Here is a picture of the shadow quad I used and you can see where it's marked which one to use. The colors can be much deeper so it's great for the older person too. I just kept it light for obvious reasons. The shimmer in this palette is so pretty too! It's more shimmer than matte for sure.

Here is a list of everything that I used today
  • Revlon PhotoReady Foundation
  • Palladio Rice Powder
  • Revlon ColorStay Mineral Finishing Powder in 010 Brighten
  • Rimmel 005 Pure lip liner
  • BH Cosmetics for the blush and lip gloss
  • Along with everything else I listed on this post

Let me know what you think! I'd love to get feedback on how I'm doing :)

Be Blessed Always
